Hello, Saint Vrain Online Global Academy!

What a delight and privilege to be a part of SVOGA as a French and Spanish teacher!

To share a bit about myself, I am a Florida native.  However, my husband, our daughter and son, and I spent quite a number of years as a Colorado neighbor as we called Amarillo, Texas, our home.  And one of the things for which Amarillo is best known---“Oh, yes, we stopped in Amarillo on our way to go skiing in Colorado.”

The true joys of my life are our two children and their families!  Our daughter lives in Iowa.  She and her husband both work in higher education.  My granddaughter is five years old and currently attends a Spanish/English dual language kindergarten.  We love practicing together!  Our son and his wife, also educators, live nearby in Florida with their two sons and one daughter.  My Florida grandchildren are in second, third and fifth grade.  I love being a spectator at their many athletic and musical events.

Currently I have returned to my native Florida and love living a few miles from the Atlantic Ocean, NASA, and the port for multiple cruise lines.  And my newest family member is my recue dog, Niley, who loves lizards and squirrels and walking along the Intracoastal waterway with me.  Yes, I love the water (not something for which Amarillo is known J ) Other hobbies that I enjoy include baking, sewing, crafting, watching movies, and almost anything to do with music!

And what a blessing to add being a world languages teacher for Florida Virtual Global School to my activities.  Virtually travelling around the globe to interact with amazing and diverse students is such a delight!  It is so interesting that initially I wondered if the online classroom would be impersonal.  Oh, my, that is so far from the reality.  My advice to online students would be to remember that an online class does NOT mean an independent study class as your FLVGS teachers as here to support you and, actually, that is the most rewarding element of teaching.
