The Best Should Teach Award Presented to Scott Bergamo, SVOGA Counselor

Over 900 people attended a ceremony on Thursday evening, August 20, 2015, on the University of Colorado Boulder Campus, where public school teachers from school districts across the Denver Metro area were honored.  As the St. Vrain Valley School District nominee, Scott Bergamo was presented with The Best Should Teacher Award for 2015.  The Best Should Teach Initiative celebrates excellence in teaching at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.  His recognition read:

Michael "Scott" Bergamo has been an educator in St. Vrain Valley for over 25 years, first as a social studies teacher and since 2005 as a counselor.  He is widely recognized as a district leader, serving on the Superintendent's Teachers' Advisory Committee and as a mentor teacher for new teachers and counselors.  His belief in the online environment as the future of education led him to St. Vrain Online Global Academy.  Scott's ability to think 'outside of the box' allows him to support students in both the online environment and their personal lives.  By building trust, listening actively, being empathetic, and showing humility, Scott has developed positive outcomes.  Students describe Scott as "welcoming, reliable, caring, trusting, helpful, and compassionate."  He goes above and beyond every day to make a difference in the lives of others.

Congratulations, Scott!
