New Elective Courses Added to SVOGA Course Offerings

We are pleased to announce that FLVS Global has released two new elective course offerings for our students at SVOGA:  Introduction to Information Technology (a practical art elective) and Theatre, Cinema, and Film Production (a fine art elective).

Algebra I/Geometry Classes Start for 2nd Semester

In an effort to continue to support our students, Algebra I/Geometry classes began last week with "structured class time."  Kevin Sheets, our onsite math engagement specialist, works with students daily on individual lessons teaching content and concepts from the Florida Virtual Schools curriculum.  After the lesson has been completed, students are expected to complete their assessment/assignment prior to returning to their next scheduled class meeting.  The schedule for classes for the Spring 2015 semester is as follows:

Congratulations to William "Liam" Gee, Student of the Quarter

Student of the quarter is an award presented to one of our students who we feel has done exceptionally well with SVOGA.  We would like to congratulate William "Liam" Gee for being named student of the quarter.  Liam enrolled with SVOGA at the beginning of his junior year.  In addition to successfully completing 14 classes with us over the last two years, he has been dually enrolled at Silver Creek High School where he has completed 3 additional courses in Drawing and Creative Writing.

2014-15 First Semester Honor Roll Announced

An Honor Roll will be published each 18-week term.  There are three (3) categories for honor roll recognition:  a grade point average of 4.0, 3.5, and 3.0.  The Honor Roll is determined from the grades reported by Florida Virtual School teachers and our school district's Infinite Campus transcript.  Students on Honor Roll must be enrolled in and complete 5 classes or 2.5 credits throughout the 18-week term to be considered for Honor Roll Achievement.  Congratulations to our First Semester 2014-15 Honor Roll Recipients

Student of the Quarter - Empress Hawkins-Kimmel

Empress Hawkins Kimmel was named the First Quarter Student of the Quarter for the 2014-15 school year.  Currently a freshman, Empress enrolled with us in August of this year, and thus far, has completed 3.5 credits or 7 classes.

I consider myself very lucky to have two little brothers, who are 3 and 4, and a supportive family. I enjoy competitive golf, being at the beach, fishing, and hunting. I love science, especially marine and earth science. In general, I love reading and becoming more knowledgeable.
